Mula Dam Ahmednagar

Mula Dam, officially known as Dnyaneshwarsagar Dam, is the biggest dam of Ahmednagar city. Located in Rahuri Taluka – some 34 kms away from Ahmednagar city – the importance of this dam is immense for people of Ahmednagar and its adjoining towns. Since it is the main source of (drinking) water supply to Ahmednagar city and many of its adjoining towns. This dam also supplies irrigated water to water deficient central eastern region of the Ahmednagar district.
 

For Ahmednagar district, which comes under dry zone and hence faces immense water scarcity, this dam is indeed like a lifeline. Construction of this critically important dam was completed in year 1974. Given below are specifications of this dam.
